At Good Shepherd, we take very seriously the privilege, challenge, and responsibility entrusted to us when assisting parents in providing a Christian education for their children.

Our Mission

School Mission Statement

Good Shepherd Lutheran School is dedicated to nurturing young hearts and minds with a Christian education. In partnership with parents, local congregations, and the broader community, we deliver exceptional education grounded in Christian values. Our goal is to develop students who excel academically and are prepared for lives of Christian service and leadership. We are committed to fostering a supportive and challenging environment where students develop the skills and character needed to fulfill their God-given potential in their homes, congregations, and communities.

Philosophy of the School

At Good Shepherd Lutheran School, we believe every child is a unique gift from God, deserving of an education that nurtures both heart and mind. In partnership with families, within our congregation and community, we strive to train and equip students for lives of Christian service and leadership. Centered on biblical truth, our faculty and staff teach and model Christian love, inspiring students to grow in faith and character. We maintain a high standard of academic excellence, with our curriculum and activities guided by God’s word. This philosophy guides our decision-making, relationships, and school culture.

To help carry out this purpose, we faithfully strive to:

  • Assist parents in nurturing the faith of their children by educating their children through a curriculum that teaches all subjects from a Biblical worldview and fosters a faith life of prayer, personal Bible study and worship;
  • Help each student to grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior;
  • Teach God’s Word diligently and systematically, incorporating its truth in all subjects;
  • Share the Gospel with families within Good Shepherd’s congregation, within other WELS/ELS congregations, and within the community, by providing an excellent academic experience within a Christian, caring, and safe environment;
  • Develop the minds of the students through a challenging, developmental curriculum which encourages students to faithfully use the gifts God has given them to the best of their ability;
  • Connect the curriculum to the students’ lives by encouraging them and teaching them how to live Gospel-motivated lives of service in all aspects.

We pray that the parents and children will experience true growth, not just in the ways of the world, but most importantly in the Word of the Lord.  “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

Our Co-curricular Activities

Athletics

Our students are passionate about sports and athletics and have the freedom to choose the one they like and wish to take up. Students can choose from cross country, volleyball, soccer, disc golf, basketball, cheerleading, track and bowling. Our 5-8th graders are able to participate.

Church Concerts & Programs

Students from all grades sing regularly in Sunday church services as well as hold Christmas concerts or programs and shine on Entertainment Nights in the fall and spring.

Panther Families

Each school year students in grades K-8 are teamed up to form Panther Families. The groups sit together for the weekly Chapel service and also participate in activities together throughout the school year. Panther families are a great opportunity for older students to practice their leadership skills, and a chance for the younger students to become familiar with older students throughout the building.

Robotics & LEGO Clubs

Robotics is a fun, learning experience for all students in grades K-8! We have multiple robotics teams that strategize, work together and compete in their age appropriate leagues. LEGO Club is a place to let creativity take over at weekly meetings during the winter.
